BMW surprises with the new R18. A custom, inspired by the R18 concept presented last year, it respects the original design, albeit less pure with all the approved equipment. Even the new BMW R18 seems to hesitate between different style connotations: custom, neo-retro, bobber… it’s a bit of everything at once.

And it shares with American models the specificity of a huge air-cooled engine focused on torque rather than power. In short, this BMW really wants to be at the crossroads of genres… Moreover, its competition is not clearly defined. However, more powerful and sportier customs can be excluded than the Ducati XDiavel or Triumph Rocket3, which are much more “power cruisers” than the R18 with less than 100 horsepower, even though these two rivals are priced similarly.
